It’s good to see something like OpenID being widely accepted by open-source developers and at the same time supported by Microsoft. Not only because Microsoft is supporting an open protocol, but this is also set out to change the online world. Gone are the days when you have to remember your profile for each and every website you visit…

AOL has converted their millions of their subscribers to OpenID, Sun is providing OpenIDs to their employees, and others are following, too. The missing ingredient to this protocol is support from Google and Yahoo. Personally, I think its just a matter of time. Google and Yahoo are known to support the open-source community and considering the benefits of having a Single Sign-On, I bet they’ll jump into this platform soon.
